Certifying of diamonds

Each diamond sold by serious trader has to be supplied with a certificate issued by international gemological laboratory. Certificate guarantees a quality and an authenticity of your diamond. There shall be following necessary data:

• Color
• Weight
• Clearness
• Type and Quality of Cut
• Name and Address of Laboratory
• Number and Date of Issue

If you decide to check the quality by yourself, there are two options:

• Assessment based on your own experiences. Firstly you need to have a lot of experiences with diamond assessment, special machines and tools and, of course, a thousand of stones you assessed and which were assessed by anyone else who is a specialist as well. This method is practically unusable for common investor.

• Diamond tester. Second option is using a diamond tester, very easy and reliable way how to find it out. It works on the basis of heat conductivity. Diamond has got a very special value of the heat conductivity. These testers cost around 7000 CZK and more, but you cannot verify a color, a clearness or a quality of cut with the tester, and these features have significant influence on its price.
