Lichtenstein

Liechtenstein (officially the Principality of Liechtenstein) is one of the smallest states in Europe, situated on the slopes of the Alps and in the Rhine Valley. It´s divived into 11 municipalities with population about 37 thousand inhabitants. Its capital is Vaduz. Liechtenstein is bordered by Switzerland, with which it´s closely connected economically and politically, and Austria. The principality is is a semi-constitutional monarchy headed by the Prince of Liechtenstein. Official language is German.

Since 1924 the official currency of Liechtenstein is the Swiss Franc. However, with the permission of the Swiss Ministry of Finance, the Principality has the right to issue collector coins on special occasions. Issuing of these coins is under auspices of the Ministry for General Government Affairs and Finance. Sales of products take place through Philatelie Liechtenstein.
